Anatomy of Moving Imagery
Editorial
2025
During 2025 winter semester’s typography course we dived into the anatomy of grid systems. My work explores the possibilities of grid and motion: giving form to moving images and highlighting the sense of flow through layout alone. I created a three-second film for this experiment, dedicating a spread to each second. By progressively reducing the images, I attempt to simulate movement purely through 2D positioning. The publication wraps up with a complete frame overview.
The text elements are highly inspired by the syntax of screenplays. Which contrasts the image-heavy layout with an minimalistic and utilitarian typographic framework.
